Organization Overview
Shawnee Christian Healthcare Center (SCHC) is a 501(c)3 Federally Qualified Health Center located in the Shawnee Neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. SCHC seeks to transform community health by sharing the love of Christ in word and deed, to facilitate community development and holistic healthcare through the empowerment of the residents in the community.
We Believe
Neighborhoods can no longer be thought of as individuals with many needs and problems, but rather as diverse groups of individuals with many gifts and assets. Every neighborhood has a unique set of skills and capacities that can be utilized for community development. Most neighborhoods address social and economic problems with only a small amount of their total capacity. SCHC’s goal is to engage everyone; everyone has something to offer! SCHC seeks to care for the whole person. True transformation occurs when every resident has access to opportunities that encourage hope and ensure their self-sufficiency.
Opportunity Summary
Prayer partners receive prayer requests from SCHC patients, and help the patients participate actively in the process of prayer.

- Receive prayers
- Actively partner and assist patients with prayer
- Offers hospitality and mentoring
- Skillfully apply the word of god through prayer
- Must be able to pray
- Must have understanding of the word of god
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be able to handle challenging situations with a calm demeanor
- Must work well with others
- Support the mission of SCHC
